Pakistani humanitarian and philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi died at age 88 last Friday. His foundation, established just four years after Pakistan's 1947 birth, has functioned as a sanctuary for the country's most impoverished citizens, running ambulances, medical clinics, orphanages, and disaster relief. "If anyone deserves to be wrapped in the flag of the nation, it is him," said Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
