Events in this series are cosponsored by the UCLA Center for Chinese Studies. News Fall 2016 Course: Qing History through Manchu Sources I History 187G/201L will be offered this fall quarter on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 6:50 p.m. at 2174 Bunche Hall. This class will provide the foundation necessary to read Manchu texts in any genre while also exploring the history of the unique pedagogical traditions of Manchu bannermen. In addition, by the end of the semester students will have a solid understanding of how Manchu continued to be used during the Qing long after 1644. UCLA deepens ties and raises profile in Asia As part of UCLA’s global engagement efforts, a UCLA delegation led by Chancellor Gene Block and Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement Cindy Fan traveled to Asia in June 2016.
