ANNOUNCEMENT> NEW H-Buddhism China Area Review Editor: Rafal Stepien

It is with great pleasure that we announce to the list that Rafal Stepien has accepted the role of China Area review Editor for H-Buddhism. Stepien is Assistant Professor of Asian Religions at Hampshire College and is currently serving at the Berggruen Research Fellow in Indian Philosophy at Oxford. He brings with him a wealth of, often eclectic, knowledge of the field and we have confidence that he will bear this expertise to great effect as a review editor. NOTICE> Award of Khyentse Translation Prize to Anne Macdonald

Dear colleagues,
the Khyentse Foundation awarded the 2016 Prize for Outstanding Translation to Anne Macdonald, for her masterful translation "In Clear Words. The Prasannapadā, Chapter One. Vol. 1. Introduction, Manuscript Description, Sanskrit Text. Vol 2. Annotated Translation, Tibetan Text." The translation, which accompanies a critical edition, was published by the Austrian Academy of Sciences Press in Open Access and is available for free download from the publisher's website http://hw.oeaw.ac.at/7673-2?frames=yes (print copies are also still available).
An official award ceremony will be held on Monday, October 9th, 2017, at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Dr. Ignaz Seipel-Platz 2, A-1010 Vienna) at 4:45pm.

Welcome Addresses: Michael Alram (Vice-President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences) and Birgit Kellner (Director of the Institute for the Intellectual and Cultural History of Asia of the Academy)
Award Presentation: Anja Hartmann (Khyentse Board of Directors, Academic Development Committee Chair)
